Happy
Holidays!
It's hard to believe that more than 2 years have gone by since
our last newsletter, but like they say, "time flies when you're
having fun". This is kind of an unofficial newsletter as we no
longer actually keep up with them, but we would like to take
this opportunity to mention that we now, on occasion, perform as
a trio. Joining us is a fantastic musician, Doug White, who
plays saxophone, clarinet and flute.
Doug is a wonderful addition to our sound. We have jammed with
many players during our 14 years as Blue Byou, but this is the
first time that we have actually decided to "work" as a trio. If
all goes according to plan, we will be working more and more
with Doug at many of our current venues, as well as private
parties, etc.
Doug started
playing the clarinet at the early age of 9, in his hometown of
Springfield, MA. and was already doing "gigs" within a couple of
years, including playing with his band at their junior high
school prom. He picked up the sax at age 13 and for the next
few years, played with several of the popular local groups.
In the
mid-60's Doug attended the University of MA., where he performed
in many different campus bands, and after college, joined the
U.S. Air Force, where for 4 years he performed on clarinet,
saxophones and flute. After leaving the Air Force, he continued
to perform in the Western MA. area with several groups, playing
saxophones (tenor, alto and soprano), alto flute, clarinet and
recorders, doing virtually every style of music, "rap" not
included. In 2002, Doug
and his wife, Carmen, moved to Englewood to enjoy the wonderful
climate (sounds familiar), where he continues to perform
locally.

As the saying goes;
"behind
every great man is a great woman" -
and her name is Carmen,
Doug's lovely wife |
That concludes
our most recent update and as always, thanks for your friendship
and support and we look forward to seeing you soon!
